I have fallen in LOVE with a card artist by the name of Faith Hofrichter on split coast stampers. Her work is simply amazing. Check out her Gallery here.
This weekend after much procrastinating I attempted two cards that were directly inspired/lifted from her gallery.
The first is a birthday card for my brother.

The owl and branch stamp as well as the sentiment are designed by Kim Hughes for Cornish Heritage Farms. Cardstock is Stampin Up. I'm still trying to get the hang of blending and shading with my Copic's but I just need more practice. I think I was just afraid of them (which is silly considering the small horde of them I own.)
My second attempt is a little cat card I made for my friend Sheila to thank her for putting up with all the crap we give her. We pick on her a ton out of love, and she takes it all in stride (well usually. lol)
Cat stamp from Stampin Up. Sentiment stamp from The Cats Pajamas. Flourish stamp is from Autumn Leaves. Cardstock is Bazzill and I colored in the black swirls with the Copic Spica glitter pens. The bling is from Michael's dollar bin.
It's hard to tell but the cat is actually 3 layers. I cut out his body and head seperatley and then layered them onto the card for a 3D effect. I am usually too lazy to do this but I LOVE the way it looks.
I was very happy how both of them came out and am looking forward to trying my hand at a few more projects Faith has inspired.
